Spirit Scamper Trailer
What IS Spirit Scamper?
This 3D animation is a proof-of-concept for a party game called "Spirit Scamper". Heavily based on Mario Party, spirits wander around the board to collect all six body parts in hopes of becoming human again.

But there's a twist.

The game board is completely malleable. At any point, the tiles can shuffle on a dime, so you can never be certain where the next destination will be!

I hope to make this an actual game that people can play in the future!
Meet the Characters
Child
This innocent spirit died by eating poisonous candy on Halloween. But they're still as happy-go-lucky as ever, ready to play a fun game of Spirit Scamper!
Pirate
This mischievous spirit may have been eaten by a shark, but all they want is to win Spirit Scamper. Whether it's through foul play or sly tactics, they will do anything to get there.
Plague
This cowardly spirit died from the plague, so they get easily frightened from everything. They're trying their best to survive. But don't count them out just yet!
Prince
This spirit is not a very happy camper. They were assassinated by their butler, so they have a bone to pick. They just want to become human again to seek revenge.
...and here's the host!
Gremm
This grim reaper happily hosts the entire Spirit Scamper event. Their enthusiasm radiates like a bright bulb and helps keep the game fun and exciting. Not much is known why they are so eager to bring players in, but business remains booming! Do the winners actually become human after playing Spirit Scamper? Who cares! The chaotic fun is what matters!

The "Spirit Scamper" trailer was my Senior Studio project. But before that, I originally came up with the concept back in early 2020 in my Game Design class. We were tasked to make a board game and this was how the original idea was conceived. There were game rules, events, and objectives; all the hallmarks of a playable board game.

Constructing the characters
Beginning stages of constructing the Child in 3D.
The Prince's crown was supposed to be broken, but it was scrapped for a more simplistic crown.
After many, many failed attempts, I was able construct 5 working rigs from scratch.

Building the board
I constructed a specific layout as if this was an actual game board.
Using the sketch, I slowly constructed the tiles in 3D, making sure everything was proportional.
